Young & Partner’s Craig Smith helped raise £3k for local cancer charity

The dust has now settled and blisters have now healed following our Commercial Property Associate, Craig Smith, taking part in the 50 mile ‘Bridge to Bridge’ walk, in aid of local cancer charity, Toby’s Magical Journey, which took place on Saturday 17th June.

Craig set off at 5am from North Queensferry together with members of Cupar Round Table, Dunfermline Round Table and friends. The weather stayed fair for the third annual Charity Walk and the sun even shone for part of it too, which made the walk around the majestic twin beacons of the Lomond hills and over the rolling agricultural landscape of North East Fife, even more stunning.

Thanks to support from local sponsors and a number of generous donations, the 10-strong team of hikers met their fundraising target of £3,000 in aid of Toby’s Magical Journey.

‘Toby’s Magical Journey to be Cancer Free’ is the brainchild of Toby Etheridge, who in December 2014 was diagnosed with Leukaemia, aged 9. Since then, Toby has tirelessly fundraised to show others that living life with cancer “is not all doom and gloom” and that you can overcome the illness. Two years later, aged 11, Toby has now raised over £20,000 for local children and young people across Scotland. Funds raised by Toby’s Magical Journey are used to provide practical support to others diagnosed with cancer, as well as offering advice and support for families and to raise awareness in understanding all aspects of childhood and adolescent cancer.
