Fife’s feel good radio station Kingdom FM has been awarded a new 12 year broadcasting license.
This exciting news means that the independent radio station is licensed to broadcast until 2027 – great news for the growing company.
In today’s where world many mediums face a struggle to maintain their audience figures for Kingdom FM are positive 34% of locals tune in every month. A strong local focus and community involvement, as well as shows catering to many a musical taste keep audiences interested .
Off air the board is made up of astute business people including Ian Livingstone former chairman of Scottish Enterprise in Lanarkshire and Jonathan Arendt Jazz FM CEO – contributing to the success of the station. Community support is strong within the station too – many Fifers are involved in running the station and this local network has undoubtedly helped increase turnover by 2% last year.
According to Managing Director, Blair Crofts the station’s advertising sales team are thriving and order bookings are high. He expects more sales growth ahead which will please the predominantly local shareholders.
The station has grown its sales team in recent years as well as investing in a new website and rebranding their sound. Now that the license has been renewed Blair Crofts is considering expanding the current relationship the station has with Fife College – there may even be a Kingdom Academy FM on the horizon to help discover tomorrow’s radio presenters and broadcast journalists.
