Who are we?
Our Licensing Team
Licensing law and the decisions taken by local authorities can impact on a lot of our clients’ businesses, from liquor to taxis, merchants to market stalls. We understand that our clients need honest, plain speaking and pragmatic advice to ensure that their licensing requirements are met.
We get to know our clients and their businesses in order to guide them through the ever increasing complex requirements of licensing law and the local authority.
We represent a wide range of clients from the corner shop, right through to some of the largest pubs, clubs and restaurants in the country.
We can provide representation to clients who have been called to appear at a Licensing Board Hearing or Licensing Committee meeting. We can advise on issues raised by the police, environmental health department and members of the public. We can advise on all new applications, transfers, variations, reviews and suspensions.
In particular our licensing services encompass:
- Contentious and non-contentious licensing matters
- Licence applications, including new licences, transfers, variations and personal licences
- Lease of licenced premises, including lease drafting, rent reviews, dilapidations and arbitrations
- Miscellaneous licensing including betting & gaming, taxis, late hours catering, street traders/second hand dealers/credit brokers and public entertainment.
